Sinopse

This Architectural Record of the University of Brasilia - UnB - represents a step towards making known the valuable building heritage of this space, conceived to be a university of utopia. Here one can find the historical and architectural description of 50 of the most emblematic University buildings, preceded by the context of their construction in the trajectory of the institution. This was done with the intention of showing that each place created to hold our university life represented a moment of the country, of the University of Brasilia, and of the Brazilian public higher education. This book, which we are pleased to publish, was conceived and developed throughout several administrations, whose support was indispensable for its materialization. I would like to thank the former presidents of the University of Brasilia for this. I am also grateful to the staff who brought to life the desire to disseminate a singular and meaningful production that has its place in the history of the world's architecture. I hope this and other initiatives will bring - to the academic community and to all people interested in the University of Brasilia - awareness of the value of the university's architectural heritage, and appreciation for all things related to it, thus increasing its esteem and conservation.
